I've been told that Americans uniquely love the look of duotone metal (yellow gold and white gold together, for example), which might be true because I, too, have worn my gold wedding band with my platinum engagement ring together for over 25 years. Although I don't wear my engagement ring all the time, I also wear duotone jewelry, such as a beautiful pendant that was once gifted to me by my husband, Fred, with Swarovski crystals set in silver on intertwined rose gold rings. I think tricolor jewelry is lovely as well, mixing gold, silver and rose gold color metals in one piece. I think the mixed metal look is freedom to wear all of my favorite jewelry at once, and I've mixed Pandora charms on a bracelet as well. Actually, Pandora charms often come in duotone designs. After all, if you can mix different color gemstones on a piece of jewelry or look, you should be able to mix precious metals in an ensemble.
