Suki Yo Unicorn Crown Luxury Headband by Sali O

"Suki Yo" means "I love you" in Japanese. It can also mean "I like you," or "I'm fond of you," similar to the way "Te quiero" is used in Spanish. "Suki" can be an expression of a form of agape love reserved for family and close friends, or it can mean romantic love, depending on the context in which it is used. In the description of my Suki Yo Perfume Oil by Sali O, I say "I love you, You're sugar & spice, & everything nice, like rainbows and unicorn cupcakes!" Now, that could be an expression of romantic love for some, but more often, this type of suki is agape love that means "I need you in my life!" and " I can't get enough of you! You're so sweet, I could eat you up!"

Both my Suki Yo perfume oil and Suki Yo Unicorn Crown were created as music merch for the launch of my album, Crystal Rhapsody. "Suki Yo (I Love You)" was first written and recorded with just myself singing on it, then my husband Fred Kimmel suggested we sing it together as a duet for his album, Earth. To our surprise, the music video for which he suggested I draw pictures has garnered quite the audience. My luxury headbands which come in several different styles are resin rhinestone encrusted satin covered flexible plastic headbands. As advertised, they are lightweight, made of 100% acrylic rhinestones, and my unicorn crowns are made with 100% acrylic beads that are beautifully facet-cut and sparkle like crystals. Amazingly, the long, spiral shaped acrylic beads I used for the silver horn tip unicorn crowns have never tarnished. Like my Tibetan silver style snowflake bead on my Crystal Rhapsody bracelet, for whatever reason, these acrylics can withstand most natural elements over the course of time.

My main mission in creating these party headbands was first and foremost to make the look easy to wear for long periods of time without them feeling like books on top of your head. I like that my unicorn horn is crafted with soft aluminum wire, making them safer to handle near your face than hard metal (however, they are not made for small children, obviously; there are plushy, fabric ones out there for them.) I also like that a thin strip of suede lining on the satin headband base makes a difference when worn over hair which can be slippery. You can still secure it with hairclips if you're going to be bouncing around at a festival in it, but chances are, unless you'll be headbanging to metal, it'll stay on without help, like a regular headband. Be brave, because it is very shiny in the light, like a mirrorball, and you will attract attention in it.
